HOW TO PICK SAREE AS PER BODY TYPE

We absolutely love women in saree, Isn’t it? Be it awards or wedding, sari is the most gorgeous outfit that anyone can carry off easily. The issue lies when someone is not able to pick the perfect one as per the body type and complexion. Everyone doesn’t get it right but one can always try to find the perfect for her silhouette.
We adore Sonam Kapoor’s quirky sarees, Vidya Balan’s elegant saris, Aishwarya Rai’s designer saris to Rekha’s Kanjivaram saris.  We roll our eyes at Malaika Arora’s backless blouses to Deepika Padukone’s navel highlighting draping style. What makes the men drool over them? It’s the way they pick the saris as per their body type. Though we can’t afford to have personal fashion stylist but we can positively select the most appropriate one.

The Slim & Slender category
The 32/34-24-32/34 size. Girl! You are blessed to have the figure to adorn heavy designer sarees. If you fall in category of Deepika Padukone then you can easily wear pure net sarees to kanjivaram sarees without second thoughts on looking bulky.

We would suggest you to keep the pallu thinner to flaunt your slender waist. Neon colors are in trend, you can always go for sarees similar to Priyanka Chopra’s green Georgette sari. Kareena Kapoor’s sarisare always the most desired among youngsters, Love her style.

The Hourglass category
The 34/36-26/28-34/36 size. The first bollywood celebrity that strikes you mind as soon as you hear hourglass figure would be Katrina Kaif. Bipasha Basu, Malaika Arora Khan or Mallika Sherwat fall in this category. We often hear how Indian women have the perfect hourglass figure and still cry over slender body type, who doesn’t like curves?
Katrina Kaif
You have the ideal figure to wear every type of saree. Be it georgette, netchiffon or silk, you can easily pull off every fabric and flaunt those heavenly curves.  If you have tiny waist then go for 3/4th Sleeves deep scoop neck backless blouse. If you consider shoulders and arms as heavy parts then opt for front scoop neck with full back covered blouse. You can go for halter blouses as well.
We would suggest that you opt for the designer Sabyasachi or Anamika Khanna collection, perfect for hourglass shape. Sonakshi Sinha is the latest fashion bee sporting stunning sarees on social gatherings.

The Big-is- Beautiful Category
Did you see Adele on Cover page of Vogue? Vidya looks stunning in sarees, Isn’t it? If you know about the latest trends in terms of size then you must be aware about the fact that there is a size revolution and stick figure is no longer in vogue. Just think of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Zarine Khan and Vidya Balan who look stunning in Indian sarees.

We would suggest that you opt for chiffon and georgette sarees. Avoid stiff fabrics like cotton to avoid getting “too big” image. Go for anything that falls perfectly with your curves, avoid wearing deep cut blouse. You can always go for medium sized blouses with3/4th sleeves to get the ideal shape.
The Sabyasachi collection for Vidya Balan & Aishwarya Rai is perfect for you.  Dark color saris with designer border will look aesthetic on you.

Other useful tips:
If you are on the shorter category then sarees witjh big border are a huge NO, NO. Always opt for saree with short border or no border. Be monochromatic and avoid big & bold prints. Rani Mukherjee always avoid bigger prints and often chose plain sarees.
